Authorship and Contributorship

The International Journal of Multi Studies (IJMS) considers authorship an important part of academic integrity and scholarly responsibility. Authorship should accurately reflect individuals who have made meaningful intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript. All authors should approve the manuscript before submission and publication and accept responsibility for their respective contributions.

Authorship Criteria

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research or manuscript. Such contributions may include the conception or design of the research, development of methodology, data collection or analysis, interpretation of findings, or drafting and substantial revision of the manuscript.

Authorship should not be assigned solely on the basis of seniority, institutional position, supervision, funding, administrative responsibility, or general assistance.

All authors should have the opportunity to review and approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Author Contributions

Authors are encouraged to provide a clear description of individual contributions where appropriate. Contributions may include conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data analysis, writing, review and editing, supervision, and project administration.

The contribution statement should accurately reflect the work performed by each author. For multi-author manuscripts, the corresponding author should ensure that the information is complete and agreed upon by all authors.

Corresponding Author

The corresponding author serves as the primary contact between the authors and IJMS throughout submission, peer review, revision, and publication.

The corresponding author is responsible for coordinating communication with co-authors and ensuring that all authors are informed about relevant editorial communications. The corresponding author does not necessarily have to be the first or senior author.

Author Order

Authors should agree on the order of authors before submission. IJMS does not normally determine author order or assess the relative contribution of individual authors.

Any change in author order after submission should be supported by an explanation and confirmation from all affected authors and may require editorial approval.

Changes in Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or change an author after submission should be submitted to the Editorial Office with a clear explanation and confirmation from all affected authors.

IJMS may request written confirmation from all authors before approving a change. Changes requested after publication may require a formal correction or other appropriate editorial action.

Contributors and Acknowledgements

Individuals who contribute to the research or manuscript but do not meet the criteria for authorship should not be listed as authors.

Where appropriate, their contributions may be recognized in the Acknowledgements section with their permission. General administrative assistance, routine technical support, or financial support alone does not normally constitute authorship.

Authorship Disputes

Authors are encouraged to resolve authorship questions or disagreements among themselves before submission.

Where an authorship dispute is brought to the attention of IJMS, the journal may request relevant information or documentation and may refer the matter to the appropriate institution or authority. Editorial consideration or publication may be suspended while the matter is being addressed.

Artificial Intelligence and Authorship

Artificial intelligence tools and large language models cannot be listed as authors because they cannot take responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, or accountability of scholarly work.

Authors remain responsible for all content submitted to IJMS, including content prepared or assisted by AI tools. Where disclosure of AI use is required under IJMS policy, authors should provide the relevant information in accordance with the journal's applicable requirements.
