Copyright and Licensing
Copyright Ownership
Authors retain copyright in their original scholarly work unless otherwise required by applicable law, funder or institutional requirements, or a separate written agreement.
Publication in the International Journal of Multi Studies (IJMS) does not transfer copyright ownership from the authors to IJMS or its publisher, Scholar Unity.
License to Publish
Upon acceptance and publication, authors grant IJMS and Scholar Unity a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, reproduce, distribute, communicate, display, archive, preserve, and maintain the article as part of the scholarly record.
This license also permits IJMS to maintain the published Version of Record and associated publication metadata, including the DOI and other persistent identifiers.
The applicable rights and terms are confirmed through the IJMS Publication and Licensing Agreement.
Creative Commons License
Unless otherwise stated, IJMS articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
CC BY 4.0 permits others to share, reproduce, adapt, and build upon the published work, including for commercial purposes, provided appropriate attribution is given, a link to the license is included, and any changes are indicated.
Text and Data Mining
Because IJMS articles are published under CC BY 4.0, they may also be used for text and data mining, including as training data for research and analytical tools, subject to the same attribution requirements as any other use under the license.
Funder and Institutional Compliance
The CC BY 4.0 license used by IJMS is intended to meet common open-access requirements set by research funders and institutions, including those associated with Plan S and similar open-access mandates. Authors should confirm any specific funder requirements before submission.
Third-Party Material
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for third-party copyrighted material where required.
Third-party material may be subject to separate copyright or licensing terms and is not automatically covered by the CC BY 4.0 license. Appropriate attribution and permission requirements must be observed.
Publication and Licensing Agreement
Upon acceptance, the corresponding author is responsible for completing the applicable IJMS Publication and Licensing Agreement and confirming that the necessary rights and author approvals have been obtained.
The agreement establishes the applicable copyright and licensing arrangements for publication.
Version of Record
The final article published by IJMS constitutes the Version of Record (VoR) and represents the official published version of the article.
IJMS may make reasonable technical, formatting, accessibility, metadata, and preservation changes necessary to maintain the integrity and accessibility of the published record.
Governing Law
This policy and the associated Publication and Licensing Agreement are governed by the laws of India.
